1. It All Started with a Hoodie
Just a hoodie, yet more than just a hoodie.
Because it’s a classic found everywhere,
attention to detail is crucial.
What we are aiming for is
a piece that goes beyond the ordinary.
This idea sparked the beginning of our challenge.
Just because it’s “character merchandise,” we don’t want to compromise on quality.
On the contrary, we want to create something that surpasses apparel brands.
That desire grew stronger within Team JOHN.
2. Surpassing the “Norms” of Character Merchandise
When you hear “character merchandise,”
the image is often “the character is the star, and the quality of the clothing itself is secondary.”
But what we aim for is the opposite.
Wearing the character,
with quality that stands alongside and even surpasses top apparel brands.
To seriously achieve this, we kept moving forward.
Then, by partnering with GWT COMMUNICATIONS, who have supported numerous apparel brands, we found a breakthrough.
3. Commitment to Shape and Fabric
The hoodie we are making this time is an original body designed from scratch.
The key points are as follows.
Well-structured three-dimensional design: just the right volume around the neck.
Durable and high-quality fabric feel: presence like an outerwear piece.
Unisex silhouette: looks great on any body type or gender.
Even the owner of a famous select shop
gave us a strong endorsement, saying “This shape is really good.”
4. What’s Taking Shape Now
We are currently adjusting the final samples with prints and embroidery.
The volume of the hood, the balance of the cuffs, the texture of the fabric.
We are working on the final touches without compromising on any detail.
The completed final samples will be released later on this blog and our official SNS.
